Your Response to the Gospel Message

Applying Romans 10:9–10, 13

Repentance and faith are the necessary responses you must make to God’s gracious offer of salvation. They are inseparable, two sides of the same coin and linked in scripture, yet distinct acts that work hand-in-hand. Both are gifts of God’s grace, accomplished by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and neither repentance nor faith is possible without the work of the Holy Spirit.

In Romans, the Apostle Paul says if these are genuinely true of you — confession with the mouth and belief in the heart — then the Holy Spirit leads you to repentance and grants you faith.

Faith is not self-generated and genuine confession and conversion cannot occur apart from the work of the Holy Spirit. You cannot do it by yourself.

Confessing “Jesus as Lord:”

It means turning from sin in genuine repentance, placing your full faith and trust in Jesus Christ alone for salvation, and confessing Him as God and Lord—submitting your life to His authority and His will.

Confession is more than just words — it is a declaration of allegiance and surrender to Jesus. It is more than a profession of faith; it is the possession of faith (James 2:17–18).

Believing in Your Heart That God Raised Him From the Dead:

The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the supreme validation of His person and ministry. Belief in it is essential for salvation because it proves that Jesus is exactly who He claimed to be—the Son of God—and that the Father fully accepted His sacrifice on behalf of sinners. Without the resurrection, there is no salvation. But through His resurrection, Christ conquered sin, death, judgment, and hell. He is alive, reigning even now, and will return again to bring history to its appointed and glorious conclusion.

Belief isn’t just intellectual agreement — it is personal faith and trust in the living Christ (John 20:29Hebrews 11:1).

There is no other way to be saved!

God offers redemption and salvation to whosoever believes. The price was fully paid by Jesus on the cross. “Whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Romans 10:13)

To receive it requires a complete surrender to Jesus Christ, genuine repentance, turning from sin and to God, and saving faith, trusting who who Jesus is and what He has done for you He is the one true, sovereign God with all authority in heaven and on earth. He died on the cross to pay the penalty for your sin and was raised from the dead to grant you eternal life.

Again, when Jesus said “I am the way” He was saying He is THE way for those who are lost. He is the ONE way, the ONLY way to salvation. Without Him you remain lost and condemned.

“Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)

Salvation comes to those who hear and believe in their heart the facts of the gospel.

Now Read the Gospel Truth, the Good News of Jesus Christ and trust the Holy Spirit to do what only He can do.
