Your Eternal Life Changing Salvation Experience

[6 minute read]

Let’s return to the theme of the The Gospel Truth App and ask and answer the single most important question that affects your eternal life destination…

Are you saved by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ?

It is the most important decision you will ever make in this world… the one thing, the only thing you must do to change your eternal destiny. It is the ultimate success in this life.

Don’t live here and leave here without it. Too many people do and they are without excuse and without hope.

Stay in His Word daily! You read or hear God’s Word or let them teach it to you and it gets in your eyes and gets in your ears and gets in your mind and the next thing you know, you wake up and it’s in your heart.

Ask God to forgive you of your sins, to fill you with His Holy Spirit and deliver you from the darkness of sin and evil of this world.

Be persistent! Keep asking! Keep seeking! Keep knocking! Keep pleading!

Eternity is a long, long time to be wrong.

Don’t be wrong.

It is God’s grace that draws you to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ through His Holy Spirit. You cannot do it by yourself. It is the Holy Spirit who provides “sufficient light” for you to realize that you are dead in your sins and need a Savior. It is through Godly sorrow that you repent of your sin and turn toward righteousness. It is by your faith, which comes from hearing the Good News of Jesus Christ, that you are justified, made right(eous) and acceptable to God through what Christ has done for you, as you are transformed by the Holy Spirit into a spiritual rebirth… born again (for the second time), this time as a new creation in Christ.

It makes perfect sense to express your repentance and faith in Christ in the form of a prayer. Crafting a prayer seeking salvation is a deeply personal process. It must be an earnest, heartfelt and urgent plea from you to the only God who makes salvation possible by seeking and accepting His free gift of grace through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. It must not be casual, passive or routine in any way. It must be a decision of the heart and not just the head. It is the beginning of a forever life in Jesus Christ.

Remember, it’s not the prayer that saves you, it’s the genuine repentance and faith behind the prayer and the Holy Spirit, God’s agent of salvation will lead you through every aspect of the transformation.

Today is the day of salvation!

Today is the day of salvation!

“If you acknowledge and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord [recognizing His power, authority, and majesty as God], and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.  For with the heart a person believes [in Christ as Lord and Savior] resulting in his justification [that is, being made righteous—being freed of the guilt of sin and made acceptable to God]; and with the mouth he acknowledges and confesses [his faith openly], resulting in and confirming [his] salvation.” (Romans 10: 9-10 (AMP)

Personalize this prayer, or one similar to it, just as if you are having a conversation with the Creator of the universe, the one true God and the only living God and pray it in the name of Jesus and for God’s glory. He already knows everything you will say. He just wants to hear your heartfelt plea that you accept His gift of grace:

Most gracious heavenly Father, have mercy on me, a sinner! I confess to you that I am dead in my sins and need a Savior.

I humbly accept your gift of grace and repent of sins express my faith and trust in your Son, Jesus Christ for who He is and what He has done for me through His death and resurrection. I believe in my heart that He died on the cross to pay the penalty for my sins and that you raised Him from the dead to grant me eternal life.

I pray for you to forgive me of my sins, to fill me with your Holy Spirit and deliver me from the darkness of sin and evil in this world.

I put my faith and trust in Jesus Christ and proclaim Him as Lord and Master of my life. I promise to publicly share my faith with others and live the rest of my life for the One who gave His life for a sinner like me.

Thank you for your love, thank you for your mercy and thank you for your grace. Help me to live out my faith and grow as a Christian every day and become more Christ-like in everything I think and say and do.

I love you and praise your Holy name and pray this prayer in the name of my Lord Jesus Christ and for Your glory. Amen.”

Once your salvation has been applied by the Holy Spirit, He will reveal and confirm the “Truth” to your spirit (your renewed mind and new heart) that you, indeed, are a Christian, a born again believer, a follower of Jesus Christ, a child of the one true and only living God and an heir to eternal life and then you will “know that you know that you know” that you have been saved.

“The (Holy) Spirit Himself testifies and confirms together with our spirit [assuring us] that we [believers] are children of God.” (Romans 8:16 AMP; emphasis added)

If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord, praise God, there is a new name written down in the Lamb’s Book of Life and it’s yours!

“Then I (John) saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away (vanished; (spoken out of existence just as He spoke it into existence), and there is no longer any sea.  And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, arrayed like a bride adorned for her husband… but only those [will be admitted to the holy city] whose names have been written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.” (Revelation 21:1,2; 27 AMP; emphasis added)

Click here to tell others that you have been saved by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ! You will be asked to give only your first name and tell where you are from in order to proclaim your faith in Christ and encourage others to do the same; the names of those who have been “saved” will scroll continuously at the bottom of this page. You will then be forwarded to: “Next Steps for Born Again Believers.”

If you have not yet accepted Jesus as Lord, we encourage you to continue to read the Gospels and hear the Good News, because that’s where faith comes from and also continue to earnestly pray and keep on praying for salvation every day. Be persistent! Keep asking! Keep seeking! Keep knocking! Keep pleading!

“…how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask and continue to ask Him!” (Luke 11:13 AMP)

“The Lord does not delay [as though He were unable to act] and is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is [extraordinarily] patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9 AMP)
