The Bible reveals much of God’s will for every believer. While God may have a specific plan for your vocation, location, or other life decisions, His moral will—how He wants you to live—is clearly revealed in Scripture.
God’s will is what God wants—His desires, purposes, and commands for your life. Biblically, Christians are called to submit to God’s will. To submit is to willingly surrender your will to God’s will and live in obedience to His Word.
It is God’s will you that surrender your life to Jesus and confess Him as Lord— the one true, sovereign God with all authority in heaven and on earth— submit to His will for your life, and believe in your heart that Christ was raised from the dead— conquering sin, death, hell, Satan and all the powers of darkness in order to grant you eternal life.
Here are some of the foundational truths the Bible reveals about God’s will for your life:
1. It is God’s will that you be saved— by His grace applied by the Holy Spirit, through genuine repentance and saving faith in Jesus Christ.
1 Timothy 2:3–4 — God “desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”
Acts 17:30 — God “commands all men everywhere to repent.”
Mark 1:15 — “Repent ye and believe in the Gospel.”

This echoes Romans 12:1–2, where Paul teaches that as our minds are transformed by God’s Word, we are increasingly able to “prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” The more we are conformed to Christ, the more our lives reflect God’s will in every area.
“Therefore I exhort you, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a sacrifice—living, holy, and pleasing to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may approve what the will of God is, that which is good and pleasing and perfect.”
