The Harvest of Humanity

Matthew 3:12 uses a farming parable that Jesus’ listeners would have understood.

In simple terms:

Jesus is like a farmer at harvest time. He will separate those who truly belong to Him from those who do not. Just as a farmer gathers the valuable wheat into his barn and throws the worthless chaff (pronounces with a short “a”; like staff or laugh) into a fire, Jesus will gather His people into His eternal kingdom while those who reject Him will face God’s final judgment.

The message is clear: every person will ultimately be separated based on their relationship to Christ, and His judgment will be perfect, final, and unavoidable.
