(The most important 10 minute read of your life!)
Salvation is a gift of God’s grace which is applied by the Holy Spirit. By His grace, God gives us what we need, a Savior… Jesus Christ and not what we deserve… eternal death and punishment because of sin.
A clear presentation of the gospel message must precede genuine repentance and saving faith. True faith always has content… the revealed Word of God. Salvation comes to those who believe in their heart the facts of the gospel. The Holy Spirit uses the Word to produce life. It is the “truth” of the gospel that saves and transforms believers from death to life. This is one of God’s greatest miracles!
As you read or hear the gospel message, which tells about the ‘greatest life ever lived and what He has done for you,’ the Holy Spirit submits to you “sufficient light” in the midst of the darkness of your sin and draws you to Himself, unblinds your eyes, “tugs on” and softens your hardened heart and opens your mind to understand the truth of the gospel, as He convicts you about the guilt of sin, the punishment for it, your need for a Savior and about righteousness and about judgement, enabling you to respond with genuine repentance and come to faith in Jesus Christ.
Salvation comes to those who genuinely repent of their sins and hear and believe in their heart these truths of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
First, the bad news:
It is sin that separates us from God. Everyone, without exception, has sinned and fallen short of God’s perfect standard of righteousness; his glory. (Source: Romans 3:23; emphasis added).
And the penalty for sin, “the wages that sin pays” (Source: Romans 6:23) is both physical and spiritual death and a fiery torment that never ceases, in the lake of fire (hell). Because of His wrath (a powerful and just anger), this is God’s rightful judgement for sin.
But the good news is this…
God, the one true and only living, Creator God, clearly shows and proves His own love for you, by the fact that while you were still a sinner, Christ died to pay the penalty for your sins (so you wouldn’t have to). (Source: Romans 5:8 AMP; emphasis added)
This is your response as the Holy Spirit leads you… If you repent of your sins, turn from sin and to God, and confess with your mouth that ‘Jesus is Lord,’ the one true, sovereign God with all authority in heaven and on earth, and believe with all your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (Source: Romans 10:9-10; emphasis added)
God Himself through His Son Jesus Christ, did what only He could do… He became that sinless human substitute that God’s justice required, the perfect lamb who suffered, bled and died on a cross, one time for all, to pay the penalty for your sins in order to deliver you from this present evil age and restore the broken relationship between God and humanity.
For with the heart one believes by faith and is justified through the righteousness of Jesus and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek (Gentiles; non Jews); for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. For “whosover” calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Source: Romans 10:12-13; emphasis added)
And on the third day, God raised Jesus from the dead and He walked out of that tomb, granting eternal life for all “born again” believers who put their faith and trust in Him. The resurrection demonstrates Christ’s victory over sin and death, providing the foundation for the promise of eternal life. We as believers, those who have been born twice, will also be resurrected when Christ returns.
The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the most important event in the history of the world. It is the foundation of our hope for eternal life.

Thank you Lord Jesus!
Repentance and faith are the necessary responses you must make to the gospel message. They are inseparable, yet distinct acts that work hand-in-hand. Both are gifts of God’s grace and neither are possible without the work of the Holy Spirit. This is the “human” side of salvation called “conversion” where you change your thinking about sin with a decisive turn from sin and to God and put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ for who he is and what he has done for you.
Genuine repentance and saving faith leads to the “divine” side of salvation called “redemption”… justification, where because of your faith, God graciously credits the righteousness of Jesus to you, the believer, and declares you to be acquitted (absolved, declared not guilty, freed of all charges, no longer an enemy, right and whole with God, pardoned and just), and then designates you to be brought into right standing before Him” and regeneration, where the Holy Spirit transforms you into a spiritual rebirth, where you are born again as a new creation in Christ, where you no longer identify as who you are and what you’ve done, but as whose you are in Christ and what He has done for you. The old you no longer exists and everything about you is made new!
You will know that you have been saved through the testimony of the Holy Spirit where He provides new believers with the assurance of their salvation and of their adoption into God’s family. The Holy Spirit reveals this “truth” to your spirit.
“The (Holy) Spirit Himself testifies and confirms together with our spirit [assuring us] that we [born again believers] are (beloved) children of God.” (Romans 8:16 AMP)
The Holy Spirit confirms the validity of our adoption, not by some inner, mystical voice, but by the fruit He produces in your heart and mind through what you think, say and do; love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness and self-control, for example (Galatians 5:22-23) and the power He provides for spiritual service; to tell others about Him. (Acts 1:8).
But the proof of “real salvation” is a transformed life!
The Bible emphasizes that true believers produce “fruit” consistent with repentance and are transformed continuously over time by the Holy Spirit.
“So produce fruit that is consistent with repentance [demonstrating new behavior that proves a change of heart, and a conscious decision to turn away from sin]” (Matthew 3:8 AMP); “and we all, with unveiled face, continually seeing as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are progressively being transformed into His image from [one degree of] glory to [even more] glory, which comes from the Lord, [who is] the Spirit.” (2 Corinthians 3:18 AMP)
Because you have been “made new” in Him, let others hear and see Christ in everything you say and everything you do and always be ready to give an answer to everyone who asks you to explain about your new attitude and how you have changed and the hope you have, but answer them with gentleness and respect, just as Christ would do. Jesus is the believer’s hope, our living hope…our only hope! (Adapted from 1 Peter 3:15 AMP)
As a believer… your thoughts, attitudes, actions and reactions must be determined by these standards: Are they Christlike or are they not? Does what you’re thinking, saying and doing right now, please God and bring Him glory or does it not? And if you know it’s not Christlike and does not please Him or bring Him glory in any way and you say it and do it anyway, then you must understand His wrath. The Holy Spirit who has taken residence in your heart will help you with this.
You simply cannot be saved and remain the same!
This is the will of our God and Father to whom be the glory forever and ever.
Today is the day of salvation! Right now is the time!
Repent and put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ!
And live for the One who died for you.
You will know when the Holy Spirit is leading you to repent of your sins and put your faith and trust in Jesus. When the time is right, you can pray this simple prayer or better still, pray whatever the Holy Spirit leads you to pray. He will give you just the right words to say. Pray only when you really believe it with all your heart.
Remember, it’s not the prayer that saves you, it’s God’s grace and the repentance and faith behind the prayer and the Holy Spirit, God’s agent of salvation is always available to hear your plea, whenever that is and wherever you are, and He will lead you through every aspect of this eternal-life changing transformation.
Here’s a sample prayer:
Lord, have mercy upon me, a sinner.
I earnestly repent of my sins and surrender my life to Jesus and put my faith and trust in Him because of who He is and what He has done for me. I confess that Jesus is Lord, the one true, sovereign God with all authority in heaven and on earth and I yield to His authority and His will for my life. I believe with all my heart that He died on the cross to pay the penalty for my sins and was raised from the dead so I might have eternal life.
I ask that you to forgive me of my sins, fill me with your Holy Spirit, and deliver me from the darkness of my sin.
Thank you for your love, your mercy and your amazing grace.
And I pray this prayer in the name of Jesus and for your Glory! Amen!

Notes:
If you acknowledge and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, the one true, sovereign God with all authority in heaven on earth (Matthew 28:18 AMP), and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart you believe by faith in Christ as your Lord and Savior] resulting in your justification [that is, being made righteous through the righteousness of Jesus —being freed of the guilt of sin and made acceptable to God]; and with the mouth you acknowledge and confess your faith openly, resulting in and confirming your salvation. For “whosoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (from Romans 10:9-10, 13 AMP; emphasis added).
Could it be that we believe by faith and then as a grow and spiritually mature in that faith, I eventually know with absolute certainty that Jesus is my Lord and Savior.

How to Get Saved! – The Good News of Jesus Christ
(The most important 10 minutes of your life)
Here is the Most Important Eternal Life-Changing Question You Will Ever Answer:
“Are you saved by God’s grace through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ?”
How did you answer?
- An emphatic “yes” means you have already received God’s free gift of salvation.
- A “no,” “I don’t know,” or “maybe” means you haven’t—and nothing matters more than settling this right now.
There is only one way to be saved from God’s wrath and judgment caused by sin:
“For by (God’s) grace you have been saved through (repentance and) faith… it is the gift of God, not of works.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)
Without Christ, we are all born spiritually dead—already condemned. But it is God’s will that you be saved:
“God… desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” (1 Timothy 2:3-4)
Repentance means turning away from sin and turning to God in faith, trusting in Jesus alone to save you. The question is—will you do that today?
1. The Bad News: Our Problem
Every person has sinned and fallen short of God’s perfect standard of righteousness.
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)
The penalty for sin is death—both physical and eternal separation from God in hell.
“The wages of sin is death…” (Romans 6:23)
Without Christ, we are born spiritually dead and already condemned. This is God’s rightful judgment for sin.
2. The Good News: God’s Solution
God, the one true and only living Creator, loves you so much that He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to pay the penalty for your sins.
“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)
Jesus, fully God and fully man, lived a sinless life, died on the cross as the perfect substitute for you, and rose from the dead on the third day—conquering sin and death.
“…if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9)
His resurrection is the most important event in history and the foundation of our hope for eternal life.
3. Your Response: Repent and Believe
Salvation is God’s gift of grace—something you cannot earn—but you must respond with genuine repentance (turning from sin to God) and saving faith (trusting in Jesus alone for salvation).
“For by grace you have been saved through faith… it is the gift of God, not a result of works.” (Ephesians 2:8–9)
“Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13)
Repentance and faith happen together. The Holy Spirit opens your eyes, convicts you of sin, and draws you to Christ.
4. God’s Promise: New Life in Christ
When you repent and believe:
- God justifies you—declares you not guilty—through the righteousness of Jesus.
- The Holy Spirit gives you new spiritual birth (regeneration).
- You are adopted into God’s family and become a new creation in Christ.
“The Spirit Himself testifies… that we are children of God.” (Romans 8:16)
True salvation produces transformation:
“Produce fruit in keeping with repentance.” (Matthew 3:8)
Your life will begin to reflect Christ—through your thoughts, words, actions, and the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22–23).
5. Pray and Surrender to Jesus
A prayer doesn’t save you—God’s grace does—but prayer is a way to express your repentance and faith. Pray sincerely from your heart:
Sample Prayer:
Lord, have mercy upon me, a sinner.
I repent of my sins, surrender my life to Jesus, and put my faith and trust in Him. I believe He died for me and rose from the dead so I might have eternal life.
Forgive me, fill me with Your Holy Spirit, and make me a new creation.
Thank You for Your love, mercy, and amazing grace.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Today is the day of salvation. Right now is the time.
Repent and trust in Jesus Christ—and live for the One who died for you.
“Now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” (2 Corinthians 6:2)
