What I Believe (We Believe)
A worldview is a set of beliefs that produces specific behaviors; actions and reactions. Actions are what you “choose” to say and do (how you “act”). With your actions, you are initiating your behavior by what you say and how you say and what you do. Reactions are what you “choose” to say and do (how you react) in response to something someone else says or does or in response to some”thing” that happens; a particular situation or circumstance you are confronted with.
“People do what they believe; behavior is the tangible outcome of belief. If you believe what the Bible teaches, you will behave in harmony with those beliefs; but if you don’t have biblical beliefs as a foundation, it is highly unlikely that you will behave biblically. If you have a set of fundamentally sound beliefs from which your behavior will emerge, the chances are much greater that you will demonstrate biblically resonant actions.” (George Barna)
Your behavior is in harmony with your biblical worldview.
For people who put these biblical worldviews together as a foundation for their decision-making and action-taking behaviors, these guidelines are both powerful and life-changing. Rather than experiencing life as one surprise after another which is a difficult challenge, they give us the strength and confidence to make solid decisions and take only Christlike actions that please God, each and every time.
Embracing the “essentials” is not just about developing a biblical worldview for its own sake. A biblical worldview is imperative because it is the only pathway to being able to consistently think like Jesus so that we can live like Him.
The Essential Beliefs
“There is simply no solution to the human problem of sin and its eternal punishment but by the grace of the one true and only living, Creator God and the resurrection of Jesus Christ.”
GOD
We Believe That…
The God referred to in Genesis 1:1 is the God, the great “I AM,” a greater, supernatural infinite Being, a mind who is not physical or material, a spirit outside of space, time and matter who is, and who was and who is to come, the first and the last, and there is no other God besides Him. He is the Creator God, the Uncaused First Cause of the universe and everything in it. He is the Judeo-Christian God, the God of the Bible, the God of miracles, the one true, sovereign God and the only living God and He is the only God who, by His grace, makes your redemption and salvation possible. He is perfectly righteous and just.
We Believe That…
He is the ONE God, revealed in three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, who each have vital roles in your salvation; God who by His grace purposed it through His divine and perfect plan, Jesus who accomplished it through His death and resurrection and the Holy Spirit who applies it through regeneration, by transforming you into a spiritual rebirth, where you are born again as a new creation in Christ. The Holy Spirit is fully God just like the Father and the Son are fully God, and He is involved in every aspect of your salvation.
We Believe That…
God is simultaneously transcendent, which means He is not limited to space and time like we are, nor is He limited by any other possibly existing dimensions which exist only because He created them and He is immanent, always present and operating within space and time and all other possibly existing dimensions. He governs, fine tunes and controls all aspects of the universe which He created from nothing.
We Believe That…
God is omnipotent with unlimited power as evidenced by His creation of the universe, the virgin birth, the resurrection of Christ and the salvation of souls. He is omnipresent and is everywhere, all the time. He is omniscient and He knows everything… the past, the present and the future, all at the same time.
We Believe That…
He is THE God with a capital “G” and He is not just “a god,” His name IS God; He is the great “I AM,” and there is not any person or anything in this world that can change that or separate us from His love. God is who He said He is and He will do what He said He would do. He keeps His promises and Jesus Christ is our living hope for those promises which are sealed by His Holy Spirit.
We Believe That…
The timeless message of Isaiah is reflected in the Old Testament prophet’s emphasis on God’s sovereign control of history and in his many predictions describing the ministry of the Savior that God would send to deliver his people. The Savior, Jesus Christ, described so powerfully by Isaiah, has appeared with the offer of salvation for all. Ultimately, in God’s own time, Jesus will return to earth, and then all things truly will be set right.
We Believe That…
God has promised that He would rid the universe of sin and usher in a time of endless blessings for all who trust in Him. He also promised judgment for all those who don’t.
We Believe That…
Satan, also called the Devil, is the enemy (adversary) of God, who through unrighteousness in the form of self-generated pride as a high-ranking, holy angel named Lucifer (which means Morning Star), rebelled against God and was banished from Heaven along with his army of rebel angels (now known as “demons) who assisted in the plot. They were thrown down to Earth and ultimately condemned to Hell.
God created the massive universe with all it complexities for only one reason… the redemption of human beings from sin and evil.
Everything in the universe was precisely and meticulously planned by God before time began and then He fine-tuned it all to perfection and not one single thing was random or by chance.
He is ONE God, revealed in three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit who each have vital roles in your salvation; God who purposed it through His divine and perfect plan, Jesus who accomplished it through His death and resurrection and the Holy Spirit who applied it through your spiritual rebirth.
The Holy Spirit if fully God in the same way that the Father and Son are fully God. They were are here before time began and all involved in the creation; one God in three distinct persons.
We are saved by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
Saving faith can only happen through the Holy Spirit, God’s agent for salvation. As you hear the Good News, the Holy Spirit submits “sufficient light” to draw you to Himself, unblinds your eyes, “tugs on” and softens your hardened heart, opens your mind and “convicts you about the guilt of sin, the punishment for it, your need for a Savior and about righteousness and judgment. It is only the Holy Spirit who can release you from the bondage of your sin and enables you to come to Christ through genuine repentance and grants you saving faith.
We can only be saved by God’s Grace. His unmerited favor for you which means that because of His love and mercy, He gives you what you need (a Savior) and not what you deserve (death and eternal punishment). It is God’s grace that draws you to genuine repentance and grants you saving faith in Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit.
Redemption restores the broken relationship between God and humanity caused by sin, offering forgiveness, salvation, and eternal life to believers through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Salvation means you are set free from the penalty of God’s wrath and His rightful judgment (the eternal punishment for sin) only because of what Christ did for you through His death and resurrection.
Salvation is offered to everyone, but each individual must choose to accept or reject God’s gracious offer.
It is sin that separates us from God.
It is God’s will that all people be saved and come to the knowledge of the (divine) truth.
Our “short” life on the earth is really a “Grace Period,” where we the “real” reason we exist is to accept His grace, to become a “believer,” to come to saving faith in Jesus Christ. It is the ultimate success of your time in this place.
The entire massive universe was created for the eradication of sin and evil and redemption and salvation for those who accept His grace and judgment for those who reject Him.
There is only one true, living, Creator God.
God is a greater, supernatural infinite being, a mind who is not physical or material, an external spirit outside of space, time and matter who has always been and always will be. He is the Creator, the Uncaused First Cause of the universe and everything that is in it, the one true God and the only Living God.
He is the causal agent, the “Cause” who who spoke the universe into existence and is called God, the Judeo-Christian God, Jehovah God, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of the Bible, The God of the Christian Church, the miracle working God, the God in three personthe only God who makes salvation possible by raising Jesus Christ from the dead.
He is the one true God in three distinct persons, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. He is the only living God and He is the only God who, by his grace makes your redemption and salvation possible.
God created the massive universe with all its complexities for only one reason… the redemption of human beings from sin and evil.
It is the Holy Spirit
You don’t have to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, but by doing so, you are choosing to forfeit your soul for eternity. Eternity is a long, long time to be wrong.
He makes the rules and sets the standards for the world He created whether we believe it or not.
There is simply no solution to the human problem of sin and its eternal punishment except through the grace of the one true, living, Creator God and the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
When Adam, the first man of creation, disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden, he brought sin and death into God’s perfect world and passed on the curse of his sin nature to all of mankind. Therefore we are ass sinner, with no exceptions, separated from God and fall short of His perfect standard of righteousness… His glory. (Romans 5:12-13, 3:23)
Our sin provokes God’s wrath, a powerful and just anger, and because of His wrath and rightful judgment, the penalty for sin is death (both physical and spiritual) and eternal punishment. (Romans 6:23)
Because of sin everyone’s eternal destiny has already been determined. By default, we are all condemned to Hell when when we die where along with all of God’s enemies will be punished for our sins; and that punishment is a fiery torment, without ceasing, forever and ever. It is permanent and irreversible.
There is a heaven and a hell. When we die our spirits either go to a place where God is or a place where God is not.
God is the Creator of the universe and everything in it, the one true God and the only living God.
He is the one true God, revealed in three distinct person: God the Father who is the Creator and Sustainer of all things; God the Son (Jesus Christ) is the Word of God made flesh, who came to earth, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on a cross and was resurrected to provide a means of salvation for all humanity; and God the Holy Spirit who is the presence of God active in the world today, dwelling in the “new” hearts of believers, guiding, convicting, comforting and empowering them.
Each have vital roles in your salvation; God who purposed it through His divine and perfect plan created before time began, Jesus who accomplished it through His substitutional death and resurrection and the Holy Spirit who applies it through your spiritual rebirth.
God the Father
God the Son
God the Holy Spirit
One true, only living, Creator God.
We are separated by God because of sin.
The penalty for sin is death and eternal punishment.
When we die we will all spend eternity in either a place where God is (Heaven) or a place where God is not (Hell).
The curse of sin and death entered the world through Adam’s disobedience. Although it was Eve who sinned first after being deceived by Satan (a fallen angel named Lucifer, who rebelled against God) who appeared to her in the form of a walking, talking serpent, it was Adam who bore complete responsibility for sin because God had commanded him, before Eve was even created: “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it, you shall surely die.” (Genesis 2:16-17)
The punishment for Adam’s sin was the wrath of God, which included a curse on mankind, a rightful judgment where every human being born with the blood of Adam would also become sinners.
There was no sin and no evil in the world until the first man chose by his own free will to rebel against God’s authority. God knew that Adam would sin, but His perfect plan included redemption through the immaculate conception, virgin birth, sinless life, substitutional death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and that plan was already in place even before time began.
In the Bible sin is defined as breaking God’s law, an act of disobedience or rebellion against God. It is also described as “missing the mark” of God’s holy standard of righteousness, His absolute and perfect measure of moral and ethical behavior, reflecting His own nature and character.
But simply put, sin means thinking things, saying things and doing things that don’t please God in any way. Your behavior either pleases God or it does not. It is either Christ-like or it is not. Those are the only two standards. And if you know it does not please God and you do it anyway, then you must understand His wrath.
God created you to have a perfect eternal relationship with. But we were separated by sin………..
Our sin provokes God’s wrath, a powerful and just anger. When we sin it not only angers God, but it also places us under His rightful judgment. There is a penalty for sin. And that penalty must be paid by the sinner and the “wages,” that sin pays, is death, separation from God and eternal punishment. That is God’s justice.
Because of Adam’s sin, we are all sinners, with no exceptions, separated from God and fall short every day of His perfect standard of righteousness… His Glory. (Romans 6:23)
The eternal punishment for sin is described in the Bible from the Book (Prophesy) of Isaiah (66:24), “Then they (the dead) will go forth and look upon the dead bodies of the (rebellious) men who have transgressed (sinned) against Me; For their worm (maggot) will not die and their fire will not go out; And they will be an abhorrence to all mankind.”
The suffering in the lake of fire is characterized by darkness, anguish, hopelessness, “weeping and gnashing (grinding) of teeth,” of skeletons, nameless and faceless, truly alone against a sea of tormented souls with no purpose, no identity, and completely forgotten. It is an unspeakable fiery torment that never ceases, with no rest, forever and ever. It is permanent and irreversible and there is no way to ever get used to it or to escape from it.
We can only be saved by God’s grace, where He gives us what we need (a Savior) and not what we deserved (death and eternal punishment), through faith in Jesus Christ.
You do not have believe in the one true and only living, Creator God or accept his Son, Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, but by not doing so, you are choosing to forfeit your soul for eternity when you die… and you will die.
Everything in life, both good and evil, must point to Jesus. Everything must point to Jesus.
