“Read the Truth. Ponder it deeply. Scroll for more. Live it and share it with others.”
It is God’s will for you to be saved!
To be saved is to be delivered from sin and death and judgment and hell.
That’s what salvation is.
The greatest thing we can desire is our own salvation. And the sweetest thing we can desire is the assurance of our own salvation. This is where joy begins. Without assurance of salvation you’ll still get to Heaven, but you will not have Heaven on earth.
“This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the full knowledge of the truth.” (1 Timothy 2:3-4)
“The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some consider slowness, but is patient toward you, not willing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9)
“Salvation: If you have it, you never can lose it, and if you seemingly lose it, you never really had it.” R.C. Sproul
It is imperative for you to understand that because of the curse and consequences of sin we are all born “not saved,” “lost,” without faith in Christ… spiritually “dead” in our sin, and condemned without hope. But God knew that Adam would sin and even before time began, He had a plan to restore the relationship with humanity that was broken due to sin.
We are all sinners and have fallen short of God’s perfect standard of righteousness and there is a penalty to be paid for that. Because of God’s wrath, a powerful and just anger, and His rightful, holy judgment, the penalty for sin is death (spiritual, physical and eternal), separation from God and eternal punishment.
Either you must pay the penalty for your sin or someone else pays it for you. But God’s justice required that the person paying your penalty must be sinless. There was not one perfect, sinless human being who could do that. So that sinless human being must be God Himself, fully God and fully human— Jesus.
So the one true, sovereign, and only living, Creator God did what only He could do. He added humanity to His deity and God himself through His Son Jesus Christ, became that perfect, sinless substitute, “the perfect lamb,” who took your punishment and died in your place so you wouldn’t have to. And on the third day God raised Him from the dead in a victory over sin, death, Satan and all the powers of darkness. The resurrection is proof of God’s acceptance of Christ’s sacrifice and the guarantee of eternal life to all who genuinely repent and put their faith and trust in Him.
Salvation is a gift of God’s grace which is produced and applied by the Holy Spirit. It is offered to everyone who would repent and believe in their heart the facts of the gospel, but to receive it you must hear a clear presentation of the gospel message where the Holy Spirit draws you to Himself, unblinds your eyes, “tugs on” and softens your hardened heart, opens your mind and “convicts you about the guilt of sin, the punishment for it, your need for a Savior and about righteousness and judgment.
It is the Holy Spirit who leads you to genuine repentance and saving faith in Jesus Christ. You cannot do it yourself.
Problem (sin) → Penalty (death, separation from God & eternal punishment) → Need (a sinless substitute) → Only Solution (repentance and faith in Jesus Christ) → Proof (the resurrection) → Application (the Holy Spirit) → Call (repent and believe the gospel).
You are saved only by God’s grace through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ!
“Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)
Salvation is ultimately from the Lord… It is God’s sovereign work.
