Your habits repeated frequently enough become ingrained as actions and reactions on “auto-pilot” called attitudes.
Thoughts and attitudes are related, but different.
Random or specific thoughts originate in the head and are dealt with consciously, one at a time as they occur and are either acted on or dismissed.
Attitudes, on the other hand, are not in the head, but ingrained in the heart where they produce good or bad behaviors automatically, without a conscious thought. Bad attitudes, just like bad thoughts, can be dismissed, but will frequently reoccur until permanently replaced with good attitudes.
So be careful which thoughts and actions you allow to move from your head to your heart. Be intentional about what is allowed in there; only good. Reject the bad and replace with the good.
“Above all else and with all diligence, guard your heart, for everything you say and do (your attitudes) automatically flows from it.” (Proverbs 4:23)
“When you hear or see a person’s attitude you are literally hearing and seeing the content of his or her character on display.” James Allen, As a Man Thinketh
